You can think of silicone implants for your penis as being akin to breast enlargement surgery, albeit at a far smaller scale. The cosmetic procedure involves a small silicone implant being placed underneath the skin of the penis.
At the moment, the only silicone implant used in the United States is called Penuma. However, other countries may allow other silicone implants instead of this one.
Silicone implants are probably the second most invasive form of treatment on this list. This is because an incision does need to be made on the penis. This means that it will probably be out of action for a short while. However, silicone implants will also be the most effective treatment and, of course, they can increase both penis length and girth.
This method is commonly used on men that suffer from erectile dysfunction or impotence. Surprisingly, silicone implants work well there, and it may even pose a long term solution.
Fat Transfer
This is the second most popular form of cosmetic penis surgery. It is rare that it is performed on its own now, though. Instead, fat transfer will often be paired with silicone implants as studies do seem to suggest that this is the most effective method for increasing the size of a penis.
With fat transfer, the cosmetic surgeon will take small amounts of fat from elsewhere in your body. They will then inject these fat cells directly into the penis (after cleaning them up a little bit). Fat transfer is never, ever going to be a permanent solution. In fact, there is often absolutely no change in the look of the penis after this surgery has been performed. Suspensory Ligament Division
This is the most invasive surgery out of the three here. It is very rarely performed now. This is because there is no guarantee of results, but it does have a major impact on the penis. In fact, in the US, very few cosmetic surgeons believe that suspensory ligament division is good.
So, what is suspensory ligament division? Well, you have a small ligament that connects the penis to the public mound area. This ligament is then cut. The result is that the penis will end up falling down a little bit. Essentially, the penis looks a little bit longer. Fat will then be sucked out from around the area which gives the perception of penis growth too.
The thing is that suspensory ligament division doesn’t actually increase the size of the penis at all. It makes it look bigger, but the penis length remains exactly the same. It is only going to look slightly bigger when it is flaccid. When you get an erection again, the penis just looks the same as it did before. Since most people are probably concerned with how their penis looks once they get an erection, this type of surgery does seem rather pointless, doesn’t it?
Of course, the invasiveness of this procedure means that most people will want to steer clear anyway. You are essentially cutting a ligament for little to no benefit. If you really do want to increase the length of your penis when it is flaccid only, then by all means go for this type of surgery. However, most cosmetic surgeons will probably not be happy to perform it due to the low results that it is able to give.
Other
We then have some treatments that are barely ever performed nowadays, but we are pointing them out just in case you end up with a cosmetic surgeon that is a fan of the older techniques.
Penis disassembly is a big one here, and it is just as invasive as it sounds. While we can’t go into depth on how the whole procedure works, imagine that the top of your penis is removed. Well, as some articles claim, your penis is ‘degloved’. The cosmetic surgeon then goes to your ribs and grabs some ligaments from there. These ligaments are then moved to the penis. Everything is put pack together and you have something that looks chunkier and longer.
Hyaluronic acid injections and polylactic acid injections are two forms of filler for the penis. They can increase length and girth, but the effects are only going to be temporary. Cosmetic surgeons pride themselves on the results that they get and, if penis enlargement surgery does not offer guaranteed results, they just end up looking bad.
As near as we can tell, there are no countries with socialized healthcare that cover penis enlargement surgery, which means it is one of only a few cosmetic procedures where it is not covered. This is likely due to the fact that there are no guaranteed results. Normally, when cosmetic surgery is covered under a socialized healthcare system, it is because not having the surgery would cause mental health issues for the patient. Penis enlargement surgery is not effective enough to reduce the risk of these mental health issues. It can still be obtained privately, though.
Side Effects and Risks
For the most part, penis enlargement surgery is going to be a fairly safe surgery. We have read several reports from cosmetic surgeons, and most report that the complications are minimal. However, we do want you to remember that the chances of you dealing with any of these will be incredibly rare.

Little to no results
When you undergo cosmetic surgery on your penis, you are taking the risk that there will be zero results for you. No results are ever guaranteed for this type of surgery, so you may leave the surgery with the same penis length and girth as before. If you do have results, then you may only be enjoying them for a year or two.
Circumcision
We suppose that this is a side-effect of silicone implants. If you have to have silicone implants, then this surgery can only be carried out if you have been circumcised. So, if you have fallen in love with your foreskin, then it is time that you say goodbye to it. It won’t be lasting the surgery.
Complications During Surgery
For many of these surgeries, you will be under general anesthetic i.e. you will be asleep. While you can suffer from certain issues. However, we cannot stress how rare this actually is. Issues include death (unlikely, like so unlikely that you do not have to worry about it), coma, or even waking up during the surgery.
In order to minimize the risk of this actually happening, then it is important that you listen to the rules that the cosmetic surgeon gives you well in advance of your surgery. For example, the cosmetic surgeon will tell you that you are not allowed to eat for 24-hours before the surgery. They mean this and it is an important rule because any food in your system can mess up the chances of the anesthetic working properly.
Penis Pain
Your penis will have been cut into. You may have had ligaments cut. It would be amiss to say that there will be no penis pain when you undergo the surgery. You certainly won’t be able to use it for anything more than peeing for a week or two, sometimes a little bit longer.
