Since the mid to late 90’s pornography has dominated the internet with its provocative and explicit content, giving entertainment, pass time, and art to millions of people worldwide.

Best Porn Companies

Sites like Pornhub, RedTube, Xvideos, Hustler, porn capitals? Let’s take a look at some minds behind the biggest pornographic content sites:

MindGeek:

MindGeek, while registered in Luxembourg, Luxembourg, operates primarily in Canada with its headquarters located in Montreal and its additional offices in Dublin, London, Hamburg, Los Angeles, Miami, San Diego, Bucharest, and Nicosia.

The site’s origins began with Mansef and Interhub, which respectively own Brazzers and pornhub-premium-pps/”>Pornhub, and changed the name Mansef to Manwin before going on an acquisition rampage, buying out several popular pornography websites.

Manwin’s shares were sold to the senior management staff of the office in Montreal after undergoing tax evasion charges, and was later changed to the site we know now…MindGeek.com!

MindGeek owns and operates several porn sites you may recognize like Pornhub, Brazzers, Reality Kings, RedTube, and so many more.

AVN Media Network:

AVN Media Network has been a porn site dominator for over 36 years. Focusing on publishing, event management, and digital media for the pornographic content industry, AVN does it all!

They boast a robust business portfolio spanning several widely known adult industry publications, shows, communities, and expositions.

Some publications owned and operated by AVN Media Network include GFY.com, AVN Magazine, GAYNV, and AVN Adult Entertainment Expo!

AVN dedicates a lot of its focus to documenting and delivering adult industry news, charts, quality content, and expert analysis for industry professionals and consumers alike. Highly respected and well known, AVN is committed to being the number one source for all things PORN to industry moguls and the everyday man like you and me.

Vivid Entertainment:

Vivid Entertainment is based in Los Angeles, California, and is owned by Steven Hirsh, Bill Asher, and David James.

Vivid is well known for creating what is now known as “The Cambria List.” The Cambria List is detailed documentation on sex acts that should NOT be filmed in pornographic content to avoid legal problems with the U.S Government.

Paul Cambria was commissioned by Vivid Entertainment to compose this list, hence the name.

Back in 2006, Vivid was described by Reuters, an international news agency, as one of the few studios. In 2006, Vivid had a condom-only policy which changed to condom-optional to the chagrin of owner Steven Hirsch, who pushed for it be optional for actors to wear condoms during filming. Vivid halted production in 2010 when an actor tested positive for HIV.

WGCZ Holding:

While MindGeek holds the mantel for owning some of the world’s biggest porn sites like PornHub, and RedTube, there is one thing that MindGeek will never grasp, and that belongs to WGCZ alone: XVideos.

XVideos sits at the #1 spot in the porn industry, even ahead of mogul Pornhub. Not much is known about WGCZ otherwise, as they remain to be mysteriously underground for the most part.

One of the few ways to get information on WGCZ Holding is to dig through legal cases the company has been involved in, including some against rival MindGeek.

Hammy Media Limited:

Hammy Media Limited, the good guys of the adult industry. Hammy Media, operating out of Cyprus over the last 7 years, has quickly become one of the adults entertainment industry leaders, and part of its commitment is supporting good causes.

Such as the Cancer Doesn’t Care campaign, which is dedicated to shedding light on cancer research for patients in the industry after Hollie Stevens died of breast cancer in 2012.

Their vision is that cancer doesn’t care about the people it kills, but its up to us to raise awareness and put aside our quarrels to come together and provide help and research to those suffering!

Hammy Media Limited is responsible for adult entertainment powerhouse xHamster.

Playboy:

The famous rabbit logo. Now Playboy Industries, Inc, the industry leader which began in print in 1953 by Hugh Hefner, Playboy stills runs today as the TIME magazine of porn.

Today, it runs as a men’s lifestyle and entertainment magazine. Playboy revolutionized pornography in the 50s’ and it is still one of the world’s most renowned brands in the adult entertainment industry.

Playboy totes regular interviews with public figures, the world’s best music artists, film directors, journalists, politicians, athletes, and many more.

However, there was a period of time from 2015 – 2017 that Playboy would stop publishing full-frontal nudity. Back in 2017, between March and April, the issue brought back nudity, however.

In March 2020, Ben Kohn, the CEO of the Playboy Enterprises, announced that the magazine, which has been in print since 1953, would have its last physical entry and would move completely online.

The current COVID-19 pandemic put complications on the magazine’s distribution, which led to the decision to move all its content online.

Playboy’s best-selling edition of the popular magazine was in 1972, which sold a wild 7 million copies worldwide! American men flocked to the magazine, buying or subscribing to the publication in groves; nearly one-quarter of all men have succumbed to the craze.

Larry Flynt Publications:

Larry Flynt Publications was founded by Larry Claxton Flynt Junior in 1965 as a competitor of Playboy to the men of America.

Larry Flynt himself tried to run for office at one point in time and is now paralyzed from the waist down due to an unsuccessful attempt at murder by serial killer Joseph Paul Franklin. Arena Magazine, in 2003, named Flynt on the big #1 spot in a list titled “50 Powerful People in Porn.”

Larry Flynt Publications is responsible for the magazine Hustler, an incredibly popular nude magazine, and publisher of several sexually charged videos.

Larry Flynt has been a part of several legal battles, some of which surrounded the regulation of pornographic content, and free speech in the United States.

Larry Flynt passed away on February 10 2021.
